Greater Northwest Area Bishop Cedrick Bridgeforth called the three conferences of the area – Alaska, Oregon-Idaho, Pacific Northwest – into Special Session on December 5, 2024 to receive and consider the adoption of area and conference-level ministry priorities in addition to passing their 2025 budgets.

The Pacific Northwest Conference of The United Methodist Church met in Special Session on December 5, 2024 to adopt shared Greater Northwest Area and PNW Ministry Priorities, adopt its 2025 budget, and finalize its nominations report. California-Pacific Bishop Dottie Escobedo-Frank presided.

Special Session Resources

The following materials are provided to support the work of the members of the Pacific Northwest Annual Conference as they meet for a Special Online Session on December 5, 2025, as called by Bishop Cedrick Bridgeforth to consider ministry priorities for the conference and the GNW Area, the 2025 annual conference budget, and the final nominations slate of conference board and agency members. Please plan to download and print items in advance if you want to have paper copies of these resources.

  • Meeting links and Voter IDs will be sent out on December 3 in preparation for the Special Session.
  • Registration for the special session closed on December 1, 2024.
  • Non-members who are interested in attending as a guest should email Patrick Scriven by Noon on Dec. 4 to receive a Zoom link and instructions. Please share the name of your local church as you do.

On Monday, December 2, lay and clergy members of the Alaska, Oregon-Idaho and Pacific Northwest Conferences gathered to discuss questions and review the materials for the Special Session on December 5, 2024. 

During the meeting, panelists were present to help answer questions about the Ministry Priorities proposal and each conference budget. A recording of that opportunity is now available.
