Federal Way UMC: P/T Church Administrator

Federal Way UMC seeks a part-time church administrator to be the primary contact person for church business matters and Sunday Service coordination. Duties include assisting pastor, managing website data, managing the church calendar, maintaining records, placing orders, managing newsletters, and more.

This position will work 20 hours per week: Sunday-Thursday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. The compensation rate is $20-24 based on experience and skill. During the initial 90-day probation period compensation is set at $20 and will be reevaluated at the end of the period.

Mount Vernon First UMC: P/T Pianist/Accompanist

MVFUMC seeks a pianist and music accompanist to work with Pastor and worship committee to provide music for weekly Sunday morning worship services. The job involves coordinating with the Pastor and the worship team to select music for each service. The pianist provides piano accompaniment for hymns for worship service, prelude, offertory, short postlude and music during communion service on first Sunday of the month as well as accompanies the choir or other musicians providing special music.

The church hopes to recruit a cadre of pianists willing to work one or two Sunday services per month. It is not necessary for an interested applicant to commit to providing services every Sunday.

Primary duties include:

  • Provide piano accompaniment for Sunday worship services
  • Coordinate with Pastor in planning and preparation of selected music
  • Accompany adult choir on Sundays which choir sings.
  • Accompany periodic special musicians

Weekly schedule anticipates a phone call or visit with Pastor or worship committee member during the week to discuss songs for the upcoming Sunday; as well as preparing and playing for church service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on scheduled Sunday. Pay is $150 per service.

Woodinville Bear Creek UMC: P/T Youth, Children, and Family Coordinator

As our Children and Families Ministry Coordinator, you would be responsible for putting together programing for the youth, children, and young families of our church family. Most of this programming is currently done on Sunday mornings from 9-noon. This job would include managing the nursery, doing the major teaching points for our children’s church, and managing two nursery workers. Other responsibilities would be: working with the parents of our children to build a vibrant and growing ministry; communicating with our families effectively; building up a vital volunteer program for our children and family ministry; working with the pastor and other staff to work effectively together; plan and implement effective outreach events such as VBS, Trunk or Treat, and our Easter Egg Hunt; and encourage the spiritual development of our children. This job will work 5-10 hours per week to build a strong Children and Family program that encompasses Sunday school (Kids Connection) and weeknight programming.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sunday school programming.
  • Create, plan, and run Camp Summit (monthly activity-based family event) programming for children and youth.
  • Meet with Family Council, which includes parents, grandparents, volunteers, and other staff.
  • Special events planning and support (Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Pageant, Parents Night Out, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Competence with children through grade 12.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Understanding of the impact of neurological difference and/or willingness to learn.
  • Must pass a background check, achieve a passing score on Sexual Abuse Awareness Training, and be able to comply with our Safe Sanctuaries Policy.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and live locally.
  • Some work can be done remotely, but some work is necessarily in person.

Mount Vernon First UMC: P/T Choir Director

MVFUMC seeks a choir director to work with the Pastor to provide music for weekly Sunday morning worship services. The job involves coordinating with the Pastor and the worship team to select music for each service. The choir director provides piano accompaniment for hymns for worship service, as well as directs and accompanies the choir. The director meets with the choir for one rehearsal prior to church service.

Bothell UMC: P/T Nursery Childcare Assistant

Bothell United Methodist Church is seeking a Nursery Childcare Assistant to provide safe care in our church’s Nursery for toddlers through age four of families who participate in Sunday morning worship and the various ministries/activities offered by the church throughout the week. The childcare assistant, which reports to the Nursery Lead, will engage with children in worshipful experiences and faith practices through play, stories, song, and prayer during worship times. Regular hours are Sunday mornings 8:30am-12pm, with additional opportunities as they arise. Salary: $21/hour

Oak Harbor First UMC: P/T Praise Team Leader

Are you passionate about leading worship through music and enriching church community life? Oak Harbor First United Methodist Church is seeking a dedicated Lead Musician to oversee our dynamic music ministry. As Lead Musician, you’ll shape worship experiences through a blend of contemporary and traditional music styles, working closely with our pastor and team members.

Summary: Lead music ministry activities at Oak Harbor First United Methodist Church in alignment with its mission and values, under the supervision of the Pastor and SPPR Team. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, at $50/hour

Responsibilities:
• Oversee weekly music activities in a variety of musical styles.
• Arrange music for the Praise Team vocalists and prepare music materials for the other Praise Team music participants.
• Lead the Praise Team in rehearsals and services, selecting appropriate music.
• Maintain music library and equipment.
• Arrange substitutes for rehearsals/services and provide music for seasonal services.
• Coordinate with volunteers/staff for worship service details and manage music purchases.

Musical Competencies:
• Versatility in music styles (hymns, folk, contemporary Christian, etc.).
• Proficiency in keyboard (piano/organ) or guitar; ability to arrange/adapt music.

Qualifications:
• Commitment to Christian faith, regular church attendance, and Christian values.
• Collaborative work style with staff, volunteers, and congregants.
• Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent experience.
• Background check and Safe Church training completion.
