The construction on the new dining hall is moving along well and now we seek your help with the work in specific areas. What a great way to be a part of the project and to also help to reduce the cost of construction.

The timing of the volunteer support depends on the construction schedule, but here are some examples of areas where help is needed:

  • backfill around building, ditching for plumbing and electrical (early June)
  • install acoustical ceiling materials (June)
  • install ornamental supports for garage doors (summer)
  • construct bench at entrance (summer)
  • tile/mirrors in bathrooms (late summer)

There are many other additional opportunities, contact Dave at the Lazy F office 509-962-2780 for more information on how you can be involved.

Construction and Fundraising Update

Temperatures are heating up and so is the construction at Lazy F. Some highlights of progress that has been made recently and upcoming:

  • The shell of the building has been going up quickly, the rectangular frame should be completed shortly, then additional cross bracing will be next.
  • There will be two side “bump outs” to the east and west that will be wood construction, board and baton exterior. This will come in conjunction with the steel work.
  • Back-fill around the building looks great. There is now room for 7 cars on the west side of the dining hall. Additional handicapped parking will be on the east side of the building.

Fundraising is going exceptionally well. A number of donors have committed to extending their completed pledges, other donors have given again with one time gifts.   We are trying to connect with churches who have a close relationship with to seek their support through a gift from the church, or its members. The gap of fundraising is getting smaller, but we still have a ways to go.

  1. We are looking forward to being a part of the Older Adults Retreat in September. But construction is not one of my gifts, so hopefully our contributions help with materials and others will do the installation. See you in September.
