On July 8-9, 2016 laity from The Pacific Northwest Conference participated in a special immersion trip to the Okanogan area in Central Washington.
Rosalee Mohney, lay leader for the Seattle District, helped coordinate this event. Inspired by a previous visit in March 2016 with her fellow district lay leaders, Mohney hoped to share, from experience, an informative and emotional trip through towns affected by the Washington Wildfires from 2014 and 2015
“To be immersed in both the physical and emotional aspects of the devastation was, at times, beyond amazing,” shares Mohney. “I came away inspired and dedicated to do what I can to support the rebuilding of lives in the ways that I can. There is no substitute for seeing the devastations and rebuilding first-hand.”
