Ronda Cordill and Jim Truitt have partnered for a number of years empowering the PNW Conference's disaster response and volunteers in mission programs.

By Jim Truitt

I have had the honor and pleasure of partnering with Ronda Cordill for the past two and a half years in the wildfires recovery efforts in Okanogan County. Ronda has been instrumental in recruiting and coordinating United Methodist volunteers from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Arizona, and Oklahoma. She provided the Okanogan County Long Term Recovery Group with 275 volunteers who contributed over 6,000 hours in 2016. That’s over one third of the total number of volunteers who helped with the recovery efforts.

Unfortunately, I am losing my partner. Ronda has assumed additional duties in the Western Jurisdiction and needs to reduce her Conference workload. The Western Jurisdiction’s gain is our loss. I know I will surely miss her.

Rosalee Mohney leads a discussion during a laity immersion visit to Pateros, Washington last Fall.

Rosalee Mohney became my new partner effective January 12, 2017. She assumed the duties of recruiting and coordinating United Methodist volunteers to help complete the recovery in the Okanogan. Rosalee can be contacted at rmohney@comcast.net, 206-870-1456 (H) or 206-354-0657 (C). Please contact Rosalee with any questions you may have about volunteering in the wildfires recovery effort, especially if you are considering volunteering or forming a team.

Ronda, thank you for your many hours of service to the people of the Okanogan. You exemplify what it means to be in service to those in need.
