During the plenary session at General Conference on Saturday, May 14, a protest was held on and surrounding the conference floor. It began with a moment of personal privilege from Fred Brewington, delegate from the New York Annual Conference.
Rev. David Valera captured video from the scene and spoke with Bishop Cynthia Harvey who offered a prayer in response. Bishop Harvey was the presiding officer of the day.
