On a different but related note, we are pleased to announce the addition of Teri Tobey as Program Associate for Young People’s Ministries for the Office of Connectional Ministries. This revisioned position replaces the Program Assistant position that has been vacant since June of this year. She will work alongside Patrick Scriven, Director of Communications and Young People’s Ministries to strengthen and further develop our Conference’s ministry with youth and young adults and support of those working in the field.
Teri brings a wealth of experience with her to this position. Over the past several years, Teri has worked for Church World Service, helping to raise money to fight hunger and provide disaster relief here in the US and around the world. She has 15 years of experience serving with youth in a variety of ways; as a volunteer and as paid staff in local congregations, as a part of retreat leadership teams and also as an adult leader at camp. We suspect that she’ll be able to relate to many of the faithful people working in local churches to support, nurture and advocate for ministries with young people.
Teri attended Seattle University for college and received a Bachelors Degree in Theology. Her husband, Jason, and two chidren live in Gig Harbor and attend Gig Harbor United Methodist Church. Teri, whose family is into CrossFit, is looking forward to working for us all.
I am thrilled be to be working with young people and the adults who serve them through the PNW UMC Conference office. I look forward to getting a chance to meet many of you at Convo, YAR and other fun events.
We are looking forward to Teri joining us in October. If you would like to send her a word of welcome or make a connection, you can email her today at ttobey@pnwumc.org or call her at 206.870.6822 after the 4th of October.
Patrick, Any new on how Dr. Guy is doing? He spoke to us on Wednesday before going to Randle on Sunday. Thanks, Mindy
Mindy, I don’t have an update. I suspect you could get one from Puyallup UMC. I see if anyone in the office knows more.
