The 2019 label for the annual “Jars for Jamaa Letu” is now available. 

Local churches are invited to use the Jars program as a fun way of gathering funds for the support of our two orphanages in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, in Africa. The orphanages are a joint ministry of the South Congo Conference and the Pacific Northwest Conference. Like all families, it takes money to raise the children and teens in the Congo, too. These funds will support the care and education of the 57 kids in care.  

“Jars” is typically collected during the time between Easter and the Annual Conference session. The most common way is to print jar labels for people to take home. Coins and even folding money are dropped in the jar until a couple of weeks before Annual Conference (which begins June 6), when the contents are brought back to their local church. Sometimes churches set up large jars in the entryway or near the coffee hour tables. The funds are brought to Annual Conference (converted to a check) or sent to the conference treasurer with other remittances. 

The label is very attractive and inviting. You are invited to support the ministry of the orphanages. The links are:
