November 24, 2015 – The Loft LA, at Westwood United Methodist Church, and the Palomar Hotel will play host to the 2016 LEAD Conference, January 10-13, in Los Angeles, CA. LEAD is an innovative experience for leaders in ministry where the participants provide much of the content. This includes TED-style talks, panels, crowdsourced workshops, worship, and structured networking opportunities. In its fifth year the LEAD Conference has curated its most dynamic experience yet. Speakers & Music
The speaker lineup includes a diverse array of ministry leaders from across the United States, including lay persons, pastors, college students, and chaplains. The speakers are Katherine Tang, David Wasson, Rosie Rios, Jason Moore, Jennifer Stockwell, F. Willis Johnson, Courtney McHill, Suzanne Castle, Allison Mark, Kim Montenegro, Jonathan Harris, Joseph Kim, Hannah Shanks, Chris Spearman, and Brent Ross. D.J. del Rosario returns as the conference emcee and the Young Romans, a pop/indie duo from Los Angeles will serve as the house and worship band.
Film Screening
LEAD has partnered with a major motion picture studio to pre-screen an upcoming film release. This will be a private screening at a local theatre, and will be followed by a conversation/feedback session with representatives from the studio. Immediately following the movie screening the opening mixer will take place at the Wellesbourne and includes hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and cash bar.
Hollywood Film & Television Writers Panel
On Monday night the LEAD Conference will offer a unique dialogue and learning opportunity to hear from and interact with working/award-winning Hollywood writers and producers. The panel, moderated by LEAD presenter Jason Moore, will begin with a time of prepared questions and dialogue, and will conclude with an extended Q&A from event participants. The panel is still being assembled. However, there will be writers (subject to change) representing THE DAILY SHOW, CONAN O’BRIEN, UnREAL, LIMITLESS, JERICHO, HUMAN TARGET, TOUCH, HAWAII FIVE-O, and more.
Registration for LEAD 2016 is ongoing. However, the conference is limited to just 85 participants. The deadline to register with the hotel option is December 5th. Commuter registrations will remain available throughout December if space is still available. Those interested in attending can register at umclead.com.
