PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position provides administrative and clerical support to the Leadership Development and Congregational Development programs of the Office of Connectional Ministries, Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.  The Office of Connectional Ministries supports the work of United Methodist congregations in Washington and Northern Idaho.  The office is located in Des Moines WA.

This position assists in providing administrative and program support for training events for churches in Washington and Northern Idaho and supports the work of various boards and commissions that assist in developing new congregations or revitalizing existing congregations.  Duties include logistical support for training events and meetings (site coordination; contract negotiation; registration; pre- and post notification; publicity distribution; evaluation management), research in best practices and resource identification, data entry, website management, coordinating large mailings, information and file management, correspondence. 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years of administrative experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Proven computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft applications. HTML and website software highly desirable
  • Demonstrated word processing skills
  • Experience preparing computerized reports using spreadsheets; strong database skills including data entry, database maintenance and report generation
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a multicultural setting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and to prioritize multiple projects
  • Curiosity about the work
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
