Our vision:

It has been a while since our first newsletter came out which was back in March of this year. I had planned on putting out a newsletter every one to two months because I understand the importance of keeping men connected to what is happening in men’s ministry. It has been a rough summer for me. With the death of my father in the spring and becoming a closer support system to my mother, daughter and grandson (we all live together). This time of transition shifted my focus to strengthening our family unit. There are times when we all face the reality of giving a first priority in ministry to the needs of our family. It has taken me a while to get back on track with what God has called me to do; men’s ministry. You never come back the same really, because you bring fresh resolve and energy, greater depth of experience and renewed hope as you move with greater clarity into the work of that call.
There is so much more work we need to do to reach men our conference. The body of Christ is at a point where a revival is happening as we speak. God’s people through Christ are yearning to reach out to those that are looking for a connection to Him especially men.
We are on the verge of a new movement in men’s ministry. This movement will require that each man reading this stop and ask himself. What legacy am I leaving behind for the United Methodist Church and more specifically what legacy am I leaving for the men that are coming behind me and is that legacy the legacy that Christ left and is still leaving for us?
Men we are at a point where we need to become spiritually mature as Christian men. We need to recognize that the future of our churches in this conference and across the denomination is reaching out to us to grow in faith and commitment. One of those areas that needs growth and commitment is the UMM.
Where are we headed?
As we look to the future of UMM in this conference we have to begin to look within our own individual life and ask the question where am I with my walk with Jesus Christ? Where am I headed with my spiritual growth and how is it relating with my church, my district, my conference?
In your next men’s meeting whether it be Bible study or breakfast, began to ask the men to ask themselves where there are in their faith. It is time we move from the cultural Christian (I spend a lot of time being one of these) to become a spiritual Christian and more than that a spiritual father. This means that you should be doing everything possible to become more mature in the faith.
I love you and will continue to pray for each one of you and your ministries in your local church. Help the conference and district UMM by praying for us and being a part of the connection of the United Methodist Men

Spotlight on ministry
We are approaching the 100th year anniversary of the Wesley Men and we need to look at what legacy has been given to us and what legacy we are leaving for our sons and grandsons that are coming behind us.
In 1908 the General Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church authorized the Methodist Brotherhoods so in 2008 we will be celebrating the 100th year of Wesleymen. It is this spirit of legacy that we embark on the next one hundred years and the legacy we will leave behind through our Legacy Builders Program
The Legacy Builders program is one step, but a HUGE step for United Methodist Men. UMM both locally and nationally is a self supporting general agency. We need your help to continue that support and to ensure a legacy is left behind for those that God has called who have not yet been born. We must leave them a ministry.
Through your partnership with the UMM, your financial investment sown into our ministry will play a key role in ensuring that the missions and ministries that the United Methodist Men create and support, will continue to be vital ministries. I am not just asking you to contribute money. I am asking you to invest in this ministry. The UMM legacy is a movement of men that changes hearts and the UMM are called to be leaders of that change.
Your investment in this partnership can be monthly or annually and the first $30 dollars gives you an EMS membership but it also moves you pass just being a member, it moves you into being a partner in men’s ministry. Your partnership is needed to change men’s hearts.
